Can a felon hold a healthcare license?

I was wondering if you knew if a felon could get a job as a medical assistant in Houston TX. In believe this job hold a certification-or registering w/ the nursing association.

A: Hello,Here in New Jersey where I live, I have worked with many ex-offenders and felons who now have jobs in health care. Your eligibility to hold a certification/license in Texas will be up to the medical board in your state and your conviction will be taken into account.

I also suggest contacting your local United Way office. They will be able to put you in contact with ex-offender and felon advocates and other services that can help you get jobs
